Most Wanted Star Body Parts

The music industry has always been on the cutting edge of style and there is no place better for rockers and songstresses to showcase that style than on the red carpet at this year's MTV's Video Music Awards. For decades, fans have tried to emulate celebrity looks. Now it seems as though people not only want the hairstyle, makeup and clothes of their favorite musician, but the actual physical features. Clothing styles now call for sculpted abs, toned legs and voluptuous backsides. We can all remember when diva Beyonce proclaimed proudly that she was "bootylicious" in 2001, and according to a recent consumer survey conducted by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, 15% of women would love to have Beyonce's booty if given the chance. Other celebrity inspired features that women would love to have is Jennifer Aniston's eyes with 46% of the votes, while 19% of women would choose Kim Basinger's cheekbones. Women aren't the only one craving celebrity assets, 51% of men said if given the option, they'd like to have MTV reality show icon, Nick Lachey's Abs. Matthew McConaughey's teeth came into second place, while Patrick Dempsey of Grey's Anatomy came in with 15% of the votes, with men saying that they'd like his hair as a favorable feature. Who's attributes were on the bottom of the list? 14% of men said they would want Brad Pitt's eyes, 11% of women wanted Angelina Jolie's lips and only 9% of women wanted Pamela Anderson's breasts. I guess American women prefer having bigger booties than bigger boobies. Wink, wink.

Meet Warner's First Child Star

Although Sybil Jason's time in the limelight was relatively brief, she enjoyed a remarkable film career having appeared with numerous Hollywood legends including Al Jolson, Shirley Temple, and Humphrey Bogart.

Two of Sybil's Technicolor short subjects, "The Changing of the Guard" and "A Day at Santa Anita" (with Al Jolson and Ruby Keeler), will also be shown. Sybil Jason herself will be on hand to answer questions about her career and discuss and sign her recent autobiography "My Fifteen Minutes". Theatre and film historian Miles Kreuger will be leading Sybil's interview.
So if you like anything having to do with Hollywood's Golden Age (like me) this special tribute is for you.

Sarah Connor Returns

If you're a SciFi fan here's some good news for you. Fox has ordered up a new project based on the Terminator movies, called The Sarah Connor Chronicles, from Warner Bros. TV and with David Nutter set to direct. According to Variety, the project picks up after the last Terminator film, T2, and follows Connor (originally played by actress Linda Hamilton) and her son John (originally played by actor Edward Furlong) now 14 years old. No word on whether Hamilton or Furlong will star and/or make a cameo in the new project or not. But it's a good bet that they won't.

"Hello And Goodbye" At The Studio/Stage Theater

If you love good theater then make sure to go down to Hollywood’s Studio/Stage Theatre on Friday, September 22nd and check out their production of Athol Fugard’s classic play, Hello and Goodbye. Often staged as a vicious tale of family dysfunction, this new production takes a fresh look at Johnnie and Hester, the brother and sister who meet again after a 15-year separation. He has stayed at home, the faithful caregiver to a crippled and abusive father. She comes back, street-wise and angry, to claim her share of their father’s disability benefits that have been stashed away for decades. In this unique portrayal, actors Jonny Kahleyn and Kate Vozoff offer not so much a story of hate, but rather a bitter-sweet snapshot of emotional pain, forgiveness and even hope. The play runs Friday thru Sunday until October 1st. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday; and 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. Studio/Stage is located at 520 N. Western Avenue in Hollywood. Tickets are $10.00 and available online at helloandgoodbyeplay.com. Or you can make reservations by calling (310) 729-2431 See you there.

Friction In The OC

Here's my latest nightlife column featured in this week's Frontiers Magazine. Enjoy!

Friction: The O.C.’s Hottest Boys’ Night By Tony Miros

For the past month, those adorable boys down in the O.C. have been partying their heads off every Thursday night at the trendy Shark Club in a weekly boy-bash called Friction. The event features two dance floors, four lounges, a private VIP lounge, seven pool tables, a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, a free valet, complimentary appetizers, and a plush outdoor smoking area—but also has an exceptionally mixed, friendly crowd that loves to dance all night with every Tom, Dick, and Hector in the mammoth, ultra-stylish space.

Started by club promoter Archer Altstaetter, this fun-filled 21-&-over club has been packing them in week after week since its star-studded opening-night party (former Lakers player Dennis Rodman and singer Bow Wow both made a special appearance that night). Described by the promoter as “a Moulin Rouge–type atmosphere,” the night is a production in every sense of the word. From the flowing velvet curtains, dimly lit seating areas, and huge aquarium (which features a shark, a moray eel, and several tropical fish) situated in the center of the club to the extremely acrobatic go-go dancers in costume, doing twirls above the dance floor in metal hoops, it’s no wonder the guys who party here feel like they’ve walked into a fantasy land of sorts.

When asked about the type of guys that frequent his night, Altstaetter says, “It’s a diverse crowd, that’s why the energy level here is so high. I tried very hard to make it as mixed as possible. We’re very strict at the door with IDs, so its not a twink club at all. The guys are between the ages of 21 to 35, professionals, extremely friendly, and here for a good time. We’re even trying to attract the lesbian community as well—which would be great to add to the mix.” As far as the music is concerned, Altstaetter says, “We have two dance floors with two DJs playing different music simultaneously. On the main floor it’s all your favorite Top 40 hits. In the Red Room [the smaller of the two] it’s mainly trance and house.”

It’s not exactly the closest place to party your ass off (without traffic it’s a good 45-minute drive from Boystown), and the bottle service might be a bit steep (we’re talking $295 for a bottle of Ketel One vodka here), but the space is gorgeous and the guys don’t have the typical West Hollywood attitude, which makes them much more attractive and approachable than we’re used to. My advice: Pack a snack, hop on the freeway, and go down and try to make some friction with all those sexy Orange County studs—for at least one night.

VITAL INFO

The Crowd: A mix of studly jocks, handsome professionals, and sexy 20-somethings from Orange County.

The Sound: Madonna, Kylie, Britney, and Beyoncé on the main dance floor, and house/trance music on the smaller dance floor.

Date Factor: Fun place to bring a date or a group of friends. The men are extremely friendly, so even if you go alone you won’t have any problem meeting someone fun to dance (or do something more) with.

Primo Pickup Spot: The smoking lounge outside. The lighting is a bit dark, but it’s the perfect place to start chatting it up with some sexy surfer stud.

Celeb Factor: Dennis Rodman and Bow Wow were spotted during the party’s opening-night bash. Other than that, there’s none to speak of.

When: Every Thursday night. Doors open at 9, but by 11 it’s packed, so get there early.

Where: Friction at Shark Club, 841 Baker St. in Costa Mesa. www.boinkevents.com

Table: There are tables and chairs everywhere you turn for you to sit at and look pretty. There’s also bottle service for all you big spenders to enjoy.

Cover: $10 per person, but if you’re on the guest list it’s free before 10:30 and half price after 11. To get on the list, send an e-mail to guestlist@boinkevents.com with your first and last name and the date of the event.

My Pitt Premonition

Every since I moved to Hollywood life has been a bit bizarre. But today I had something down right freaky happen to me.
You see...right after work today I decided to go to the gym, on the lot, and finally get myself back into shape.
Anyway...I finished my work-out around 7:05pm and on my way back to my office I passed by the trailers next to the Ocean's 13 stages and noticed that Brad Pitt's Ducati motorcycle was still parked there.
I thought to myself "hmmm...that's odd, he must have had a late call" and then I thought (half jokingly) "with my luck I'll probably bump into him on my way home."
Anyway, I put all of that aside and proceeded to walk to my building, get into my car, drive off the lot and stop at the Bank of America across the street to make a deposit. As I was going home on Cahuenga I stopped at this annoying stop sign on Odin (that I hate because everyone who has the right of way there is retarded and always takes too much time making their turns).
As I sat there and waited...I heard this motorcycle pull up next to me and try to pass me. It actually made my blood boil because I wasn't taking that long to go, so I got a bit pissed off at this mysterious biker. As I turned to see who the idiot was that was trying to sneak past me I froze because to my surprise it was Brad Pitt !
Talk about freaky! I even did a double take just to make sure it was him. When I was sure...I said to myself out loud "I knew I was going to bump into him on the way home." It was just like I was in an episode of Medium. Sort of.
When the road finally cleared we both raced down the street side by side. I instantly went for my camera phone, to get a shot of him, but by the time I got it ready he was already two blocks ahead of me. Damn!
Oh well...next time. Wink, wink.

Dylan Does Dante's Cove

Guess what?

My best friend Dylan Vox just got a lead part in the racy cable TV show Dante's Cove on Here! He plays the new villian on the show (AKA the town drug dealer) next season. I'm SO proud of him.

Ohh...he's also currently starring in the hilarious play Naked Deception (thru August 27th) at the Studio/Stage on Western Avenue in Hollywood.

The play is about three happily married gay couples living in Los Feliz whose lives are turned upside down by a visiting "home wrecker." Dylan plays Shawn, the seemingly innocent recent college graduate who is in reality a man on a mission to destroy and conquer.

Going To The Dogs

At last Saturday night's "A Midsummer Dog's Dream,” honoring the rescue work of Tori Spelling and Pam Grier at the exclusive Malibu estate of Paul Mitchell, the handsome, charming, celebrity author, socialite and actor Eric Schiffer (that's him on the left) proved his love of animals in a BIG way.
You see...Mr. Schiffer, who was seen flocked by celebrities from Tia Carrera to the Barbie Twins, led a bidding battle to benefit animal rescue with the attorney of a mystery celebrity (rumored to be Lauren Bacall) which got hot and heavy just as the auction came to a close.
Without the bid battle the auction price was $700, but the two stars kept it going, driving the winning bid to $11,000 with the mystery celeb taking it. Oh well...can't win them all.
If you don't know who he is he wrote the best selling book "Emotionally Charged Learning” and he has a new book coming out this spring called"Rockstar Entrepreneur” - which I'm dying to read. He's also quite the party guy (just like yours truly) from what I hear. Apparently he's always spotted at all the big star-studded events in town.
Hmmm...sounds like we could be the best of friends. Hey...stranger things have happened. Wink, wink.

My good friend, club promoter, Paul Nicholls (The Lounge at Tigerheat) is starting a new weekly party (starting this Tuesday night) called Temptation Tuesdays at Les Deux in Hollywood.

Bret's Second Feature Film

I'm so happy for my good friend Bret Wolfe (that's him on the left)...he's about to be in second feature film!

Apparently, Guest House Films, an independent motion picture production company, is going into pre-production on their second feature, "Back Soon," and my buddy Bret is starring in it!

Written and directed by Rob Williams, this gay romantic drama reunites many of the creative talents that made "Long-Term Relationship," the first Guest House Films production (which also featured my friend Bret), such a success on the film festival circuit.

"Back Soon" follows the relationship between Logan and Gil, two men who find themselves inexplicably drawn together despite their disparate backgrounds. However, their bond is soon threatened by Gil's mysterious past and a startling revelation about their connection. Oh, the drama!

Anyway...principal photography is scheduled to start next month in the greater Los Angeles area. The film is being produced by Rob Williams and Rodney Johnson and co-produced by Matthew Montgomery. Set to star in "Back Soon" are Windham Beacham ("Porcelain"), Matthew Montgomery ("Journeyman," "Gone, But Not Forgotten"), Artie O'Daly ("Strong Medicine") and of course my fabulously talented (and extremely sexy) friend Bret Wolfe ("Wet Palms"), all of whom appeared in "Long-Term Relationship."

For more information on the Guest House Films click HERE.

Tori Pokes Fun At Her Estranged Mom

Make sure to watch "Access Hollywood" on Monday, August 7th because one of my favorite TV stars Tori Spelling pokes fun at her estranged mother, Candy Spelling, and tells "AC" she is getting by with the support of her friends and husband. On Saturday evening at a Much Love Animal Rescue event in Malibu, Spelling received an honor for her "time, enthusiasm and amazing ideas" that she has contributed to their animals and volunteers. Upon accepting her award, she poked fun at her estranged mother in her acceptance speech, saying, "...My family tells me that the word 'dog' was one of my first words. They told me first it was 'dad,' second it was 'dog,' and then third, oddly enough, it was 'mom.'" Spelling told "Access Hollywood"backstage, "...that was a joke. I was trying to be funny up there." When asked how proud her father would have been of her for receiving this honor,Spelling said, "Oh, my dad was, next to me, probably the biggest animal lover ever, so this would be the award he'd be the most proud of." In regards to how she was feeling in the wake of her father's recent passing, Spelling said, "I'm doing okay. I have a lot of love and support around me ...I have a tight group of friends that give me endless support; they're like my family. And I have my loving husband." Ok.....

Rim Job At MJ's

Here's my latest nightlife column in Frontiers Magazine.

Enjoy!

---------------------------------------------------------

Rim Job At MJ’s: Workin’ Hard for the Party By Tony Miros

Every Tuesday night a bevy of L.A.’s sexiest studs line up in front of MJ’s Bar in Silver Lake to stimulate not only their senses, but their libidos as well, at Rim Job. This off-the-hook weekly party features some terrific rock music to drink, dance, and cruise boys to, but it’s the 15 or so godlike go-go boys shaking their money-makers in every direction that truly get the crowd all horned up.

Started only a year ago by 35-year-old party promoter Anthony Lopez, this weekly bacchanal has been one of the hottest gay club nights in town since its inception. Described by its creator as “a party for guys who want to let loose and get laid,” the night features three fetish shows, starting at 11 p.m., in which two beefy men dressed in leather drip wax on, flog, and taser each other in and around certain erogenous zones of their ripped-up bodies. To add more fuel to the fire, on the back patio there’s a portable shower module that showcases a perfectly sculpted “shower dancer” wearing nothing but a towel and some strategically placed suds that he’s more than happy to remove for a tip. And on all the video monitors around the bar are some of your favorite porn stars giving each other exactly what the party’s title says.

When asked what types of guys come to his night, Lopez says, “They’re mostly between 25 and 35, all professionals, from all over the city. They’re also a drinking crowd that like to hear rock music, hang out, and see a little bit of fetish. But what they’re really here for are the dancers. That’s what really turns them on.” As far as the music is concerned, Lopez says, “Unlike other gay clubs, you won’t hear any Madonna played here.” Sure enough, there was none playing the night we stopped by. On the contrary, there was a great mix of classic and current rock tunes spun by DJ Kidd and club resident Distructo throughout the night.

When asked what specific artists he likes to play on this particular night, DJ Kidd responded by saying, “I’ll start the night with some White Zombie, Nine Inch Nails, and some old No Doubt—just for fun. Then as the night goes on I’ll get a lot more seedy and edgy, and play some new stuff by the Gossip or M.I.A. It’s definitely not what you’d hear anywhere else.”

VITAL INFO

The Crowd: A mix of beefy muscle boys, sexy professionals, bears, and down-to-earth, beer-drinking, pool-shooting guys—who all love those gorgeous go-go dancers.

The Sound: Classic and contemporary rock exclusively.

Date Factor: Getting laid is what this crowd is interested in. So leave your honey at home and have some sleazy fun.

Primo Pickup Spot: Your best bet is to scope out and flirt with whoever you’re interested in inside the club, then pick them up later on the back patio. Trust us—it works.

Celeb Factor: Are go-go gods celebrities?

When: Every Tuesday night. Party starts at 9 p.m., but get there early to avoid waiting in that long-ass line.

Where: MJ’s Bar, 2810 Hyperion Ave.

Table: The back patio has tables and chairs. Inside, there’s only the bar and some spots along the walls to rest your beer or cocktail on.

Cover: $7 per person, but make sure you have enough money for drinks and to tip the dancers.

My Star-Studded Work Day

I had a fabulous day at work today.

First, as I was driving my golf cart in between a couple of soundstages on the Warner Bros lot and I suddenly found myself driving right next to George Clooney! He was walking over to someone's trailer with his Ocean's co-star Eddie Jemison. At one point, he noticed me staring at him so he stopped and waved at me! Which nearly made me crash my cart.

Then...later this afternoon, I was standing around the Ocean's 13 hotel set on the backlot with some co-workers of mine and suddenly found myself standing a few feet away from Brad Pitt! He was standing next to Jerry Weintraub's jazzy Rolls Royce golf cart smoking a cigarette. Talk about a hottie. Seeing him blew me away.

Needless to say...I was on cloud nine for the rest of the day.

Jeff Styker Exposed On Stage?

Here's some...ahem...unusual news.
It seems famed funnyman Bruce Vilanch (Celebrity Fit Club, Hairspray) has teamed up with legendary gay porn icon Jeff Stryker to do a one man show.
That's right...the extremely talented writer/comedian has penned a new stage show entitled "A Sophisticated Evening with Jeff Stryker" starring His Largeness live on stage and in the flesh (no pun intended).
The show, which is billed as an "erotic comedy," runs August 3rd-20th at the Celebration Theatre in West Hollywood. The theater has limited seating (roughly 50 people per night) with a limited amount of shows Tuesday through Sunday. In other words...buy your tickets ASAP because there ain't that many to begin with. To make reservations call 1-800-542-2131.
If anything...it should be an interesting evening.

"She Was A Showgirl..."

Here's a blast from the past. It's the fabulous Shirley Bassey singing one of my all-time favorite disco songs "Copacabana" on her 1979 variety show "The Shirley Bassey Show." It's really quite hilarious. Shirley plays Lola in the production (of course) and she does it better than any drag queen would. Enjoy!

Heath Has The Last Laugh

Holy Brokeback Batman! It's official.
Just read this press release from Warner Bros and see what I mean.
------------------------------------------------- As a follow up to last year's blockbuster Batman Begins, Christopher Nolan is set to direct Warner Bros. Pictures' The Dark Knight, written by Jonathan Nolan, based on a story by Christopher Nolan and David Goyer.
The film will be produced by Emma Thomas, Charles Roven and Christopher Nolan. Additionally, Christian Bale will resume his role as Bruce Wayne and Academy Award nominee Heath Ledger has been cast as The Joker. The announcements were made today by Jeff Robinov, President of Production, Warner Bros. Pictures.
Christopher Nolan revamped the Batman franchise in 2005 with the immensely successful Batman Begins, starring Christian Bale in the title role, which chronicled the early years of the superhero. Nolan first garnered attention from critics and fans in 2000 with the groundbreaking drama Memento, which he wrote and directed. He went on to direct the thriller Insomnia, starring Al Pacino and Robin Williams, and recently wrapped production on The Prestige, with Hugh Jackman and Bale.
Ledger most recently earned Oscar Golden Globe, BAFTA and SAG Award nominations and won the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Ennis Del Mar in the award-winning drama Brokeback Mountain.
"Chris' unique vision is what made Batman Begins such an outstanding film and we could not imagine anyone else at the helm of The Dark Knight, said Robinov. "We also can't wait to see two such formidable actors as Christian and Heath face off with each other as Batman and The Joker."
"I'm excited to continue the story we started with Batman Begins," added Nolan. "Our challenge in casting The Joker was to find an actor who is not just extraordinarily talented but fearless. Watching Heath Ledger's interpretation of this iconic character taking on Christian Bale's Batman is going to be incredible."
Production is set to begin on The Dark Knight in early 2007.
