My Fabulous Oscar Night

Oscar parties have always been one my favorite things to attend whether it's at a friends house or at some swanky Hollywood club. But the one I attended last night, at Here Lounge, was truly off the hook!
This fun-fundraiser for The Trevor Project not only had a terrific vibe, complimentary cocktails, a fantastic buffet, and a star-studded guest list, but it had it's own share of celebrity drama too! Love that.
You see...the moment I arrived at the soiree I was told by several party guests that former NYSNC member Lance Bass had just taken several photos on the red carpet, spotted his hunky ex Reichen Lehmkuhl working the room, turned around, and dashed for the Vanity Fair bash down the block. OH MY!
Also spotted throughout the evening were the fabulous Marcellas Reynolds (Big Brother), Nick Verreos (Project Runway), the fun Tyler Duckworth (The Real World: Key West) who is pictured with yours truly above, sexy pop duo Jason and DeMarco, gorgeous J.P. Calderon (Survivor and Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency), Logo's wonderful news anchorman Jason Bellini, delicious Darryl Stephens (Noah’s Arc), and sultry author Ben Patrick Johnson.
Below are some fun pics I took throughout the night for you to see. Enjoy!

The First Chris Paciello Bio Pic

Well...it's finally happened. The first bio pic based on Chris Paciello's life in South Beach is in the can and is about to hit television airwaves Monday, March 12th!
That's right...Donnie Wahlberg (Sixth Sense, Boomtown and Band of Brothers) and Jason Gedrick (Boomtown, Murder One and Backdraft) star in the A&E Original Movie KINGS OF SOUTH BEACH, premiering on Monday, March 12 at 9pm EST/PST.
Part Donnie Brasco and part Scarface, from the writer of Goodfellas and Casino Nick Pileggi, the film is based upon the true story of the club promoter who reinvented South Beach as a nightlife mecca. Wahlberg plays Andy Burnett, an undercover cop who is sent to to Miami to link the club impresario with a mob boss. Once there, he is immersed in the swanky nightlife and becomes friends with the very same club owner he is there to investigate.
The production also stars Nadine Velazquez (My Name Is Earl), Ricardo Chavira (Desperate Housewives) and features a special guest appearance by Steven Bauer (Traffic, Scarface).
From someone who knew Chris and partied alongside him during those fun-filled, crazy, South Beach nights I can't wait to see how much they get right and how much they get wrong.
Hmmm....maybe its time to start writing my own SoBe screenplay. Wink, wink.

Survey Says...Larry's Her Daddy

The "who is Dannielynn's real father?" drama continues.
An AccessHollywood.com poll conducted this week (Tuesday to Wednesday morning-Before Stern or Birkhead took the stand) reveals viewers believe Larry Birkhead is the father of Anna Nicole Smith's child, Dannielynn.
Nearly 2,500 viewers weighed in on one of the questions at the center of the Smith story.
In the poll, which asked viewers who they thought was Dannielynn’s father, 73% responded "Larry Birkhead" and 22% responded “Howard K. Stern.” The rest of the votes were split among Smith’s deceased husband, J. Howard Marshall (3%), Zsa Zsa Gabor’s husband, Prince von Anhalt (1%) and one of Smith’s former bodyguards Alex Denk (1%).
“Access Hollywood’s” Tony Potts interviewed Birkhead as he walked into court on Tuesday, February 20. When asked how he felt about sitting across from Stern who has been keeping him from Dannielynn, he said, “It doesn’t make me happy, but I’m here to make sure that doesn’t happen too much longer.”
Birkhead added, “I just look at a picture of my daughter and that's all I really need to see to keep me strong.”
Why can't the daytime soap "All My Children" be this good?

And The Oscar Goes To...Martin Scorsese

I just got home from going to a special Academy Award screening of The Departed at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences screening room in Beverly Hills and all I've got to say is if legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese doesn't walk away with a golden statuette, this year, for Best Director I'll really get pissed off.

The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson and Mark Wahlberg and it tells the story of two men from opposite sides of the law who are undercover within the Massachusetts State Police and the Irish mafia. Violence and bloodshed boil when discoveries are made, and the moles are dispatched to find out their enemy's identities.

It received six Golden Globe nominations (Scorsese won for Best Director) and five Oscar nominations this year including Best Picture, Best Director (Martin Scorsese), Best Supporting Actor (Mark Wahlberg), Best Adapted Screenplay (William Monahan) and Best Film Editing (Thelma Schoonmaker).

If you haven't seen it yet make sure you do. It will be released on DVD on February 13.

Hopefully, this will be the year Marty walks away with the big prize.

Brooke Shields In 'Jungle'

Here's some more casting news.
NBC has added Brooke Shields to the cast of primetime soap Lipstick Jungle, based on the book by Candace Bushnell.
The cast also includes Gina Gershon (Dreamland), Scott Cohen, Melissa George (The Amityville Horror), and Matthew Morrison (Music & Lyrics).
While Bushnell's book Sex and the City followed the exploits of four single women looking for love in New York, The Lipstick Jungle tracks three powerful career women who are willing to do almost anything for success in the business world. Their thirst for achievement is sure to get them where they want to go--but at what personal cost?
The show is scheduled to premiere September 2007.
I can't wait to see it.

Who Will Be Mr. & Mrs. Smith?

Last week, I asked you guys who you thought should be cast in the title roles of ABC's new dramatic series Mr. & Mrs Smith - based on the action film starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

Here are the picks you sent.... Cara Bruno and Michael Vartan Charisma Carpenter and Chris Carmack Mia Kirshner and Marc Paul Gosselaar Gina Philips and Justin Hartley

Unfortunately, the show's casting directors didn't select any of them. It was announced, this week, that sexy Jordana Brewster (The Faculty & The Fast and The Furious) and hunky Martin Henderson (Smokin' Aces & The Ring) were cast in the roles.

Oh well...they were all good selections, but in Hollywood you can't win 'em all.

Faux Celeb Sighting

My fabulous New York party-goer scources tell me that Paris Hilton look- alike Natalie Reid as well as sexy singer Samantha Cole attended "Millionaire Hot Babes Speed Dating Event," this past Wednesday night, at Bruno Jamais Restaurant Club to prowl for Millionaire Men who love hot women all night.
E! Correspondent Bobby Thomas was one of the speed daters and "Paris Hilton" aka Natalie Reid in true "Paris form" was looking for guys with fat bank accounts and media coverage which was in abundance last night with camera crews from WNBC, The Today Show, Inside Edition, WCBS and throngs of others who were there to capture the 40 wealthy men and 40 hot women as they made the rounds from table to table.
Also spotted there was famed Matchmaker Janis Spindel who was on hand to oversee those looking for love in all the right places.
Only in New York.

Kathy Griffin Does Gay Porn

Remember when "Queen of the Fag Hags," Kathy Griffin, use to do the Oscars? Well now she's hosting the GayVN Awards (the gay porn awards) in San Francisco, at The Castro Theater , on February 24, 2007! Griffin is probably best known for her four-year stint on the NBC sitcom Suddenly Susan as Vickie Groener, Brooke Shields' acerbic colleague. She has supplied voices for characters in several animated series, including Dilbert and The Simpsons, and had a dual role on the X Files TV series.
Her Bravo reality show, Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, debuted in 2005 and has been renewed for a third season. The all-new eclectic mix of adventures chronicling Griffin's latest indignities unfolds over six episodes, airing Tuesdays at 9 p.m.
"I'm thrilled that 'my gays' have asked me to join them for their big event," Griffin, known for her rapid fire humor, said. "I can't wait to skewer my favorites." Excerpts from the show will be used as part of Griffin's Bravo show to be aired on Bravo Television Network.
"Kathy is going to make the 2007 GAYVN Awards show more fun than ever," said Chad Beecher, vice president, AVN Business Relations. "Sarcastic comments just tumble off her lips. She'll have us all rolling in the aisles."
Operated by AVN Media Network, the GAYVN Awards honor outstanding movies and the talented individuals who have contributed to the advancement of the gay adult entertainment industry.
An inside source tells yours truly that Ms. Griffin is getting paid $60,000 to host the event this year! Hopefully she'll make Falcon hunk Matthew Rush (or Greg, as I know him) the butt of her jokes while handing out the "Best Bottom of the Year" award for that amount of money. Wink, wink.

See you there!

Rockin' Hollywood

Ready to hear some good music?
Joey DeGraw, older brother of singer/songwriter Gavin DeGraw, has a show February 10th at Hotel Cafe in Hollywood.
His sound is harder than Gavin's. It combines powerful songs with a rootsy rock feel creating a unique unmistakable sound. Trust me... he's good.
He's a prolific songwriter, working with some of the biggest names in business, and his songwriting is honest and witty with a voice that's raw and filled with emotion.
So if you have the opportunity, you really should check him out live. FYI - Gavin will be attending as well as Joss Stone, the cast of One Tree Hill, and a slew of celebrity guests (yippee!).
Hotel Cafe is located at 1623 1/2 N. Cahuenga Blvd, in Hollywood. Chris Barron of the Spin Doctors will open at 8pm, and Joey goes on at 9pm.
See ya there!

Varla Jean Merman Comes To LA

The fabulous Varla Jean Merman (Jeffery Roberson) is bringing his hilarious one man...ahem...woman show - named "Anatomically Incorrect" - to Ultra Suede, in West Hollywood, until February 22nd!

Loosely based on an exploration of the relationship between the body as a whole and its parts, the show travels raucously through a seemingly random medley of songs, chats, video skits and costume changes, which somehow coalesce to suggest that all the parts that shape us as humans, whether those be cantankerous organs, identities or identifications, matter little when compared to the human whole.

The show, which is sponsored by Manhunt.net, is directed by Michael Schiralli and plays every Tuesday and Thursday at 8PM. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased HERE. FYI - the club has a two-drink minimum, so drink up while you're there.

Enjoy! I sure will.
